A Mediterranean Jewel Box Apartment

Set within a 1990s brown-brick development in Canada Water, this apartment has been transformed into a vibrant, Mediterranean-inspired jewel box, a complete contrast to its urban exterior.

Designed as a sunny escape from the surrounding cityscape, the interior was conceived as a joyful, transportive oasis. Colour, texture and warmth take centre stage, creating a home that feels as though it could exist anywhere along the Mediterranean or even a country home rather than on a quiet cul-de-sac in South East London.

Unusually for the studio, the design intentionally departs from the language of the building’s architecture. Given creative freedom by the client, the brief became less about responding to the exterior and more about creating a sense of escape, an interior defined by optimism, personality and a strong sense of place within an urban setting.
